Gynecology is a word taken from Greek meaning "the science of women" - gynaikós (woman), logía (study, science). A gynecologist has completed a subspecialty in gynecology and obstetrics, and specializes in female organ pathology (ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina, vulva, perineum), their hormones, and pregnancy.
